PNM Style Inspo: Real Looks From Me – Your Obsession Girl ✨

*Disclaimer*- This is outfit inspiration based around Southeastern Louisiana University Recruitment! For outfit inspo for other universities, visit our other blogs!

Recruitment week is one of the most exciting times—and if you’re anything like I was, you’re already thinking (or overthinking) what you’re going to wear. I totally get it. Choosing outfits that are cute, appropriate, and true to your personal style can feel overwhelming. But don’t stress—I’m here to help.

I’ve put together real try-on looks for each round of Southeastern Louisiana University recruitment to give you some style inspo and a little extra confidence. Every outfit I styled is based on what you’ll actually be doing each day, so you can feel comfortable and look your best. Let’s get into it!

Open House Round — Comfy, Cute & Confident 💕

I put together two outfit ideas that are comfy, cool, and totally PNM-approved, depending on the vibe you want to give.

Outfit 1: The Gingham Dress
This look is sporty but sweet! I’m wearing a neutral gingham activewear dress with a flattering tie-front detail. It’s soft, breathable, and moves with you—perfect for a day of convos without sacrificing style. I finished the look with clean sneakers to keep it laid back and effortless.

Outfit 2: The Pop-of-Color Set
If you’re more into a bold color moment, this lightweight orange set is a favorite. It has an easy fit with pockets (yes, pockets!). It feels just as comfy as an activewear set but makes a statement with that vibrant color. I paired it with the same neutral sneakers for a cohesive look.

Shoe Moment:
You really can’t go wrong with a clean white sneaker on Open House day. They’re comfy enough to walk in, and they keep your outfit feeling casual but styled. Platform styles are a great way to add just a little height, too.

Coffee Talk Round — Casual Chic Meets Connection 🎀

Coffee Talk is one of those rounds where you want to feel relaxed but still a little elevated. You’ll be wearing a recruitment tee provided by your school, so the styling really comes down to what you pair with it.

For this look, I styled a lilac pleated mini skirt that brings a pop of color and fun movement. The layered pleats give it a slightly flirty feel without being over the top, and the high waist helps define your shape—even with a relaxed tee.

Shoe Moment:
I went with a fun white sneaker with ribbon laces to keep it comfy but add a cute detail. It gives just enough height and pairs perfectly with the playful skirt for a balanced look.

Style Tip: Tuck or twist your tee for shape, then let your skirt or shoes be the focal point. It's an easy formula that works every time.

Philanthropy & Values Day — Elevated Tee Style 🌸

This round is all about learning what each chapter stands for—so you want your look to feel respectful, put-together, and still very you. You'll be wearing another recruitment tee provided by your school, so how you style it from the waist down is where you can really make it yours.

I paired mine with these bright green wrap skort-style bottoms that add such a fun pop of color. The tie detail and textured trim bring personality to the outfit without feeling too bold, and the high-waisted fit works perfectly with a tucked tee for a flattering, feminine look.

Shoe Moment:
To finish it off, I wore a neutral wedge slide. It’s the perfect blend of dressy and comfortable—just enough lift to elevate the outfit, but still easy to walk in throughout the day.

Style Tip: Don't be afraid of bold color—as long as the silhouette feels appropriate, a fun color can help you stand out and show your personality.

Preference Round — Classic, Elegant, & You 💐

Preference is the final round—and honestly, it’s the most special. You’re connecting on a deeper level, and your outfit should reflect that while still feeling like something you’d actually wear.

I tried on two different styles for this round depending on the mood you're going for.

Outfit 1: The Flare Mini Dress
I went with a soft purple mini dress that has the most flattering fit-and-flare shape and playful statement sleeves. It’s such a sweet, classic silhouette with just enough personality to feel unique. If you're into something shorter that still feels elevated, this is a great go-to.

Outfit 2: The Tiered Midi Dress
If you're leaning toward something longer, this colorful patterned midi dress was such a fun option. The tiered skirt gives it movement and drama (in the best way), and the mix of colors made it feel festive without being too loud. It feels perfectly polished for such an important day.

Shoe Moment:
I styled both dresses with the same tan block heels—neutral, comfy, and super versatile. They go with everything, give you just the right amount of height, and you won’t be dying to take them off after a long day.

Style Tip: Think about which dress silhouette makes you feel the most like yourself. You want to walk into those rooms feeling calm, confident, and completely at ease.
